REVIEW: Queen Helene Royal Curl Products

About two weeks ago I received a couple of products to review. BeautyStat contacted me that they had products for women with curly hair from Queen Helene. I thought I HAVE to try these products out ! I've been on the hunt to find something that actually works well with my curly hair.
The day I got the products I started using them right away. I didn't want to waste any time because I wanted to use the products for a decent amount of time before writing a review. When I opened my package I was sad to see that the oil opened and spilled all over everything. I wish they would have packaged it better. There was still a good amount of product left so I got to try it out. The package contained a shampoo, conditioner, oil, and shaping creme. *All of the products are free of sulfates, petrolatum, parabens, and phthalates. I love that It's free of sulfates because that can really dry out curly hair which is normally already really dry.

I'll start off with the shampoo and conditioner.  They have a really pleasant smell to them ( I actually love smelling my hair when I get out of the shower because these products smell so good ) which is a good thing. They come in 12 oz bottles. Which I kind of feel like I would run out of the shampoo and conditioner quite quickly since my hair is pretty thick. The conditioner really caught my attention because I never really had a conditioner like this one. You know how when you put conditioner in your hair, it makes your hair really silky in the shower? Well this conditioner doesn't do that. My hair just soaks it right up. For wavy curl it says to rinse out the conditioner, and for coarse curls to just squeeze out the excess instead of rinsing it out. It doesn't leave my hair oily like other conditioners do if I were to leave them in my hair. Overall I really like the shampoo and conditioner and I will purchase them when I run out.

On to the curl smoothing oil. This oil is supposed to smooth frizz and prevent future breakage. I'm not a fan of using oil in my hair but for the sake of this review I tried it out. I usually used it after getting out of the shower, applying it to my ends and the extra to the rest of my hair. I didn't really notice any dramatic change using the oil. I am going to continue to use it, and if I see any changes I'll keep you updated.

Last but not least the curl shaping creme. The directions say to apply to wet hair starting from the ends in sections and work your way up. It also says to smooth with fingers from root to tip to lengthen your curls and reduce the poof. I pretty much do this total opposite because It's just the way I've always done my hair and it works best for me. I section my hair if i was going to straighten it and apply the shaping creme from the root to ends. my roots are what needs the most attention so I start there and work my way down. I have to say I LOVE the way this product makes my hair look and feel. The downside to this is that it gets flaky and white. You know how some hair-sprays and gels get. Well thats what happens. Say I have this in my hair and I go to put it up in a pony. Right away it turns white. It's a bummer because I don't like to wash my hair often, because It's not good to wash your hair everyday. If your going to use this product everyday you will have to wash your hair everyday as well. The products comes in a 15 oz jar which I'm going through really quick. Thats the only bad thing I have to say about any of these products. I will probably purchase this when I run out but I won't use It everyday.

My hair styled with the shaping creme

My hair natural.

Overall, I really liked the products. I did notice a big difference with my hair because of the shampoo and conditioner. My hair was less nappy and my curls were more defined even without using the shaping creme. I would recommend this to people with curly hair !

I would like to say thank you to Queen Helene and BeautyStat for giving me the opportunity to try out these products. Though I have received there products complementary of Beautystat these are my own opinions and I am NOT being payed for this review.

NOTD 21: Really Random

This is my second nail design of the new year. I honestly can't believe I've stuck to blogging and doing my nails. I was a person who used to hate doing my own nails and would always have acrylics or nubs. But now I enjoy debating on what color to paint my nails and what kind of design to do. I enjoy all the great feedback from everyone as well ! But enough rambling.
This was just a random design that popped into my mind. But the design on my nails isn't what I exactly had in my mind but thats fine. The design reminds me of something I should have done for New Years. Oh well !

It kind of took me forever to make the tiny little bows. And on top of that I mad at least three sets of bows because my parents kept throwing them away =\. And one of my pinky's doesn't have a bow because it fell off and I didn't feel up to making yet another bow, so I just left it blank. Hope everyone enjoys this nail design. It may be the last one of this year !

NOTD 18: Santa Claus Is Coming To Town !

So I wanted to do something really Christmas-y. I saw julieg713 on YouTube do Santa nails. I said to myself that I've got to try that, and so I did.

Now What?

I know I've stopped updating this blog as much as I used to. But I just feel like getting this blog started up is more difficult than on LUUUX. I don,t just blog on LUUUX to get points but I do it because I love to share my opinions And I love hearing feedback from other people. On this blog I get views, but I do not get comments and such. Which kind of sucks. I am going to update this blog more often though, because I don;\'t want to give up that easy. If anyone knows how to get your blog out there please let me know !
